What we collect and why.

Reading the site

You can read every guide and profile without an account or an email address. Our measurement records page views and interactions such as clicks to a provider's website. It never records your email address, name or anything you type.

Requesting the kit

When you request the Before You Hire Kit we record your email address, the time, the page you were on and whether you ticked the marketing box, along with a hashed form of your connection address used only to limit abuse. We use the address to email you the kit. Delivery status reported to you is what the sending service tells us, not a guarantee that the message reached your inbox.

Marketing emails

We send hiring tips and occasional offers only if you tick the separate, unticked box. We keep a record of the wording you agreed to and when. Every marketing email identifies Foothills Local Guide as the sender, includes our contact details and contains an unsubscribe link that works for at least 60 days; requests are honoured within 10 business days and usually immediately. You can also withdraw consent by contacting us.

What we never do with your address

• We do not pass it to any business featured on this site, including affiliated businesses.
• We do not sell or rent it.
• Choosing a service on the confirmation page does not sign you up to anything.

Retention

If you only requested the kit, we delete your request record after 90 days. If you gave marketing consent, we keep your address and consent record until you unsubscribe, then keep only a suppression entry so we do not email you again. Bounced or complained addresses are suppressed.

Enquiring with a business

Links to a provider's contact page take you to that provider's own website, which has its own privacy practices. We record that a provider link was clicked, not who clicked it.

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or withdraw consent at any time. Contact us.
